Legislative & FOIP Services

Under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), any person has the right to request information that is in the custody and control of Service Alberta, including his or her own personal information. An individual may also request a correction of his or her personal information that is in the custody and control of Service Alberta when all other avenues have been exhausted.

Service Alberta supports the principle of routine release of information; therefore it may not be necessary to make a formal FOIP request to access a record(s).

A FOIP Advisor can assist you in determining whether the record(s) that you wish to access are available through a program area, or to discuss submitting a FOIP request. Forms and information about how to submit a FOIP request and the required fees are available on the FOIP website.
