Registries

The Registries unit provides land title services under the Torrens Land Registration System (external site) and is also responsible for ensuring Albertans have access to registry information and services for:

• Motor Vehicles
  
  
• Personal Property
  
  
• Vital Statistics
  
  
• Licensing
  
  
• Corporate (Businesses and Non-Profit Groups)

Registries audits the Registry Agent Network and certain aspects of consumer legislation and provides contract management for Access to Motor Vehicle Information Regulation (AMVIR). Registries' Special Investigations Unit also provides registry-related oversight and investigative service, facial recognition analysis, court certificates, and investigative and forensic support to the Ministries of Infrastructure and Transportation.
