Identity Theft

Protect Your Identity

Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada.  Protect your personal information and you will protect yourself against identity theft.

Identity theft occurs when personal information (social insurance number, credit card, birth certificate, driver's licence or other identifying information) is used without an individual’s knowledge or consent to commit a crime, such as fraud or theft.

Be careful with any documents or information you provide. These documents can be used to produce fraudulent identification and gain access to additional personal and financial information.
