Development Principles

The ongoing development of the Alberta SuperNet is governed by a well-defined set of principles:

  • Financially sustainable network

  • Network that expands to handle growth

  • Purchase or lease existing infrastructure (i.e. leverage existing assets) for connections

  • Open and equal participation opportunity for private sector

  • Promote competition and rural development

  • Ensure affordable and timely services are available for government, learning, health, libraries and municipal (GoA/LHLM) programs
